Police Blotter: June 26-July 8

Concealed, stolen handguns and battery are included in this week's reported activity.



The following are crimes reported by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department in the last week. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Two men were arrested for possession of a concealed, stolen handgun on June 26 on White Sage Road at Los Angeles Avenue. The driver, a 25-year old, was driving on a license that had been suspended due to a prior DUI conviction and the arresting officer also found him to be under the influence of methamphetamine, THC and opiates, according to the arrest record.

June 26

A 37-year-old man was arrested for disturbing the peace and possession of marijuana on the 70 block of Park Lane. Also, a 38-year-old woman was cited for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive her car.

June 28

Someone attempted to break into the Mirabella HOA clubhouse on Torino Street. Also, someone stole items from T.J. Maxx

June 29

A car window was broken on McFadden Avenue and a bicycle was stolen from behind a business on the 100 block of Los Angeles Avenue. Also, a person was injured when he was beat up on Bard Street.

June 30

Items were stolen from the Boys and Girls Club. Also, someone set fire to a structure at Performance Nursery, causing damage to it and some of the nursery’s plants. Finally, a 62-year-old man was arrested for battery after leaving visible injuries on his live-in girlfriend.
