A motorcyclist was hospitalized Friday afternoon after police officers pursuing him collided with his bike when he braked abruptly during the chase, according to a release from the Simi Valley Police Department.
Brandon Rowe, 26, of Riverside, was hospitalized with minor injuries. He was found with methamphetamine in his possession when he was searched after the accident.
The chase occurred after Rowe was signaled to pull over for a routine traffic stop and took off to lead officers on a chase. The accident happened at the intersection of Heywood and Duncan Street.
Rowe was determined to have warrants and was arrested for drug possession and transportation, having a suspended license, evasion of police and driving under the influence of drugs.
