The Moorpark Police Department will open its doors to visitors for an open house Nov. 8.
The event will give guests an opportunity to tour the police station, ask questions about the department, and get a look at the department's mobile command center. As well, visitors will get to meet police personnel, Moorpark Volunteers in Policing, C.E.R.T. and A.C.E.S. (ham radio) personnel. There will also be activities for children and refreshments.
The open house will also serve as a food drive for the Moorpark Food Pantry. The department in encouraging visitors to bring a canned food donation when they come.
The event will run from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 9, a Wednesday, at the Moorpark Police Services Center, 610 Spring Road.
