Police to Serve ... Food

Law enforcement personnel will raise money for Special Olympics.

Those who protect and serve on a daily basis will be serving in a whole different way next week. The Moorpark Police Department and the Ventura County Sheriff's Office will raise money for Special Olympics by serving food at a local restaurant.

Law enforcement personnel will take on the role of servers for a Tip-a-Cop event at Wood Ranch Barbecue Restaurant from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 16. Tips the public donates to the police-servers will go directly to the Ventura County Special Olympics.

The mission of the Special Olympics of Southern California is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type events for children and adults with intellectual or physical disabilities.
