Power Outage from Nearby Car Crash Cancels Moorpark College's Football Game at Pierce College

The showdown with visiting Moorpark College is moved to Monday.

A power outage caused by a nearby car crash brought about the cancellation of Moorpark College's football game at Pierce College in Woodland Hills on Saturday, according to the Ventura County Star.

The power is expected to be out at the field until Sunday, according to the report, and the game has been moved to Monday at 6 p.m.

The driver of the car is in critical condition after crashing into a power pole in the 6000 block of Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills just before 7 p.m. Saturday, according to Woodland Hills Patch.

"There was a car accident on Winnetka that blew out the transformer," said Moorpark College athletic director Howard Davis, according to the Star. "They said (Sunday) would be the earliest they can get the power back on."

Power went out at the stadium about 10 minutes before the scheduled 7 p.m. kickoff, according to the Star.
