Search Warrants Lead to 10 Moorpark Arrests

The warrants were served in relation to two August shootings.

Detectives from the Moorpark Police Department on Thursday and Friday made 10 arrests stemming from shooting-related search warrants.

According to a statement issued by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department Friday the detectives, along with several other specialized units from within the Sheriff's Department, arrested the nine men and one woman ranging in age from 20 to 39, while investigating two August gang-related shootings. One shooting took place Aug. 11 and one on Aug. 13.

Warrants were served at 10 residences and, while the shooting investigation continues, detectives arrested the suspects for additional crimes discovered while serving the warrants, according to the Sheriff's statement.

Clark Mendoza, 23, and Alfredo Gutierrez, 36, were arrested for child endangerment; Edgar Godinez, 31, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell; Jose Ayala, 20, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance; Michael Lopez, 39, Randy Gomez, 38, Anthony Gomez,39, and Tiffany Davis, 21, were arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance; Larry Reyes, 22, was arrested for a parole violation and Ricardo Mendoza, 38, was arrested for an outstanding warrant, the statement said.
