Sheriff's Department Cancels Jail Visits During Renovations

The jail will be closed to visitors Sept. 18-21.

The general public will not be able to visit friends and relatives in the main Ventura County Jail for four days this month due to renovations.

The jail will be closed to visitors Sept. 18-21 due to renovations in the lobby of the pre-trial detention facility. The restriction will not affect attorneys or other professionals, according to a statement issued by the Sheriff's Department Friday.

The visitation cancellation will also not affect regular visiting schedules at the Todd Road or East County jails.
