Sheriff's Department Makes Another Drug-Related Arrest in Moorpark

A day after it announced an arrest related to the sale of "bath salts" in Moorpark, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department issued a statement Wednesday regarding a marijuana sales-related arrest in the city.

The Sheriff's Department concluded a two-month investigation Tuesday with the arrest of 19-year-old Alexander Marvin of Moorpark, who authorities say was selling marijuana from his residence on the 12000 block of London Grove Court.

The invesitgation was the result of a tip that Marvin was selling the drug from his home and possibly to high school students, the Sheriff's statement said.

Detectives detained the man at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday after observing him conduct several illegal drug transactions. A search of Marvin's person unveiled marijuana packaged for sale and proceeds they suspect were from the illegal transaction, according to the Sheriff's Department.

During a search of Marvin's residence, conducted with a warrant, detectives found additional marijuana, a small amount of cocaine, a large sum of currency determined to be proceeds from the illegal sales and eveidence that Marvin was actively involved in the illegal sales, the satement said.

Marvin was arrested and booked into the East County Jail for possession of marijuana for sale. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues. Marvin’s bail is set at $50,000 and he is scheduled for arraignment on Thursday at 1:30 p.m., according to the statement.
