Sheriff's Department Makes Methamphetamine-Related Arrests

Suspect was selling the drug from a Moorpark home, police say.

Officers with the Ventura County Sheriff's narcotics unit arrested three men in Moorpark last week after a weeks-long methamphetamine sales investigation, according to Capt. Ron Nelson of the Moorpark Police Department.

People living near a home on the 100 block of Everett Street (just north of Charles Street) had made police aware of possible suspiscious activity there, according to Nelson.

"We had been getting on and off reports about traffic coming and going constantly," Nelson said.

During an investigation, a Sheriff's deputy found information that enabled detectives to secure a search warrant for the home. Though Nelson did not have details regarding the exact amount of methamphetamine found, he described it as "a lot" and an amount large enough to be for sale. The discovery of the drug lead them to make arrests of three adult brothers at the residence, Nelson said.

One man, Miguel Salgado, 32, was arrested for possession for sale of a controlled substance and is facing multiple sentencing enhancement counts, according to Nelson. The police captain said Salgado's bail was set at $250,000.

One of Salgado's brothers was booked on counts of resisting arrest and another was released after being cited for driving on a suspended license, Nelson said.

A fourth brother was also arrested the same week for an unrelated drug-related incident, the captain said.
