Sheriff's Department to Conduct DUI Checkpoint

The Ventura County Sheriff's Department and the Moorpark Police Department have issued a statement that they will set up a checkpoint at an undisclosed Moorpark location Saturday to look for drivers who are under the influence.

The checkpoint will last from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., with officers from multiple agencies in the county assisting.

The checkpoint is made possible by a grant the Oxnard Police Department recceived from the California Office of Traffic Safety for the Avoid the 14 program, wherein the 14 refers to the 14 law enforcement agencies in Ventura County.
