Sheriff's Dept. Airlifts Child from T.O. Park

The girl had a seizure, fell and suffered a head injury, according to the sheriff's department.

A 10-year-old girl was airlifted from Wildwood Park in Thousand Oaks after suffering a seizure and head injury Sunday afternoon.

According to a statement issued by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department Monday, the girl fell as a result of the seizure and the fall, in turn, lead to the head injury.

First on scene were units from the county fire department, which were able to drive most of the way to the girl via dirt roads before having to hike the rest of the way down a short single-track trail. Due to her location and her injuries, they decided it would be best to call in a helicopter to a medical center, the report said.
