Sheriff's Department Announces Moorpark Gang Graffiti Arrest

The alleged gang members were caught after tagging a city park.

Ventura County Sheriff's Department deputies has arrested two juveniles for gang-related vandalism in Moorpark.

In a statement issued Saturday morning, the department said deputies contacted the 15-year-old boys while responding to report of vandalism in progress at Villa Campesina Park on May 1. The deputies determined the boys were members of a local street gang and had just drawn graffiti, which was gang related, throughtout the park so they arrested the boys, who were booked into juvenile hall, according to the Sheriff's statement.

This is the same graffiti vandalism crime that appeared in Tuesday.

In another statement issued at the same time, the Sheriff's Department announced an unrelated gang-related arrest of a 25-year-old man in Newbury Park. The man brandished a knife during a gang disturbance in the patio area of Sharkey’s restaurant, according to the statement, which went on to say witnesses told police the man was there to fight members of a rival gang.
