Thieves Take Contents of Moorpark Post Office Drop Box

Post office personnel estimate between 3 and 30 pieces of mail were taken.

Post office supervisors at the U.S. Post Office in Moorpark estimate between 3 and 30 pieces of may may have been stolen last week from a mail box in the office's parking lot used for drive-through mail service.

Moorpark Police Department deputies responding to a theft-of-mail cal determined the theft occurred between 5 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday, according to a statement issued by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department Monday.

The police department is seeking the public's help in identifying the individual or individuals responsible for forcibly opening the mail box and taking its contents. Call 805-532-2700 to report any information that might be of assistance.

Additionally, the Moorpark Detective Bureau is asking that any residents, who utilized the services of the inner, drive through mail box (the mail box that is closest to the Post Office Building) in the U.S. Post Office Parking lot, between the hours noted above, call the Moorpark Police Department and /or monitor your personal and financial information for indications of identity theft.
