Thousand Oaks Police Seek Man in Sexual Assault

Simi Valley woman attacked in her car, sheriff reports.

The Thousand Oaks Police Department is seeking a man who attacked a Simi Valley resident in her car in Thousand Oaks on Feb. 15, according to a statement issued by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department Thursday afternoon.

The man stopped the victim in the area of Cascade Avenue and Great Smokey Court and asked for her business card, the statement said. When the victim stopped her car at the curb, the man jumped in and sexually assaulted her, it said.

The man reportedly fled in a tan or light-colored sport utility vehicle after a nearby witness screamed.

The attacker was described as a 160 pound, six-foot to six-foot four inch Causasian or light-skinned Latino man in his 40s, with a receding hairline.

Police are asking anyone with information about the attack to call the Thousand Oaks Sexual Assault Unit. Anonymous tipsters can call Ventura County Crime Stoppers at 805-494-TALK.
