Update: Man Arrested in Alleged Attempted Bank Robbery

The Ventura County Sheriff's Department arrested the man at the Wells Fargo on Los Angeles Avenue.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday arrested a Moorpark man on suspicion of attempted bank robbery.

According to a press release issued by the department Thursday, Alec Eskander, 27, came into the bank and made comments to an employee that indicated his intent was to rob the bank.

The sheriff's department was received a call about the incident at about 1 p.m. Officers detained Eskander and began an investigation.

Eskander was arrested on suspicion of attempted bank robber and booked into the Ventura County Jail with a bail set at $50,000 pending his arraignment in the county's superior court, the statement said.
