Is Route 23 Bypass the Answer to Moorpark's Truck Traffic Problem?

What do you think of the idea? Do you think there is too much truck traffic in town? Tell us in the comments.

The Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved a revised conditional use permit for a mining facility on Grimes Canyon Road in unincorporated Ventura County near Moorpark recently, a move that has local officials concerned about increased truck traffic through town.

In response to the news, Moorpark city officials are reviewing a previous plan to lengthen State Route 23 and extend it around the east side of town, thus reducing the number of trucks traveling on city streets, the Moorpark Acorn reported.

The project has been estimated to cost $85 million and would require federal, state and private sources for funding, according to the report.
