Planning Commission OK's New Tattoo Studio in Moorpark

The business will be located at the Parking Lane Shopping enter on Los Angeles Avenue.

The Moorpark Planning Commission has unanimously approved a permit for a new tattoo establishment.

The 960-square-foot tattoo studio will be located at 300 Los Angeles Ave, Ste. 306 in the Parking Lane Shopping Center, which currently offers a variety of restaurants, retail stores and a liquor store.

David Dominguez of Sugar Free Tattoo filed for the permit on Oct. 10, 2012. The permit allows for a tattoo and cosmetic tattoo parlor with five workstations, a break room and a storage room. The business will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

When asked by Planning Commissioner Bruce Hamous whether there was any push back from nearby Faith Lutheran Church with regards to the business' proposed hours of operation, Dominguez said there were no concerns or problems voiced by the church.

"It’s good to see new businesses coming in and since there has been no push back from either the church or surrounding neighbors, I’m happy to see new businesses going in Moorpark and I would certainly support this project moving forward,” said Planning Commissioner Diana Gould.
