The Ventura County Community College District has named an interim vice chancellor of business and administrative services.
Brian Fahnestock, a consultant at the University of California, Santa Barbara currently and a former vice president of business services at Santa Barbara City College, will take over his new role June 24.
Fahnestock has been active in local government and education for the past 20 years, serving at various levels of responsibility, including division chief, vice president, chief financial officer, and board director.
“I find Mr. Fahnestock to be an action-oriented leader with a diverse, technical background and extensive work experience that will help the District transition effectively as we move forward into the next academic year," Jamillah Moore, Chancellor, Ventura County Community College District. "We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber step into this vital role as we conduct a nationwide recruitment to fill the permanent position of Vice Chancellor of Business and Administrative Services."
Fahnestock holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Finance and Administration. Fahnestock succeeds Sue Johnson, who is retiring June 30, 2013, following 20 years of service to Ventura County Community College District.
