Moorpark College to Offer New Solar Technology Program

The program is nine units and is created to prepare students for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners' certification test.

Moorpark College will offer a solar technology program for students interested in a career in solar technology this spring semester beginning Jan. 6.

"Aspiring solar technicians— professionals who install electricity producing photovoltaic solar panels onto the roofs of residential and commercial buildings—can earn an Applied Solar Technologies Proficiency Award Certificate this spring at Moorpark College," according to the Moorpark Acorn.

The program is nine units and is created to prepare students for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners’ certification test, according to the article. Students will be eligible for employment in the field once they pass the test.

Interested applicants can register on the Moorpark College website. The spring semester starts Monday.
