City Opens Registration for Adult Sports Leagues and Tourneys

Winter is approaching, and registration is now open for winter adult sport leagues and tournaments in Moorpark.

The city of Moorpark offers recreational basketball and futsal leagues in the winter. New this year are a seven-on-seven soccer tournament and softball tournaments. Registration is accepted on a team basis only. Anyone can form a team from work, church, family and neighborhood friends.

Indoor basketball is offered on Monday and Thursday nights.

Futsal, an indoor version of soccer, is offered for coed teams on Tuesday nights. It's offered on Wednesday nights for the men’s open division.

The softball tournament will be played on Feb. 2 for coed teams and Feb. 23 for men’s teams.

The seven-on-seven soccer tournament will be played on Feb. 9 for coed teams and Feb. 16 for men’s teams. The tournaments will run as double-elimination tournaments.   

Teams can sign up for leagues through Dec. 21 or until spaces fill for leagues. The registration deadline for tournaments is Jan. 26 or until all spots have filled.
