Ex-Moorpark Football Star Ready for Takeoff at Air Force

Sports news: Joe Frank is hoping to contend for a starting spot on the offensive line.

Joe Frank, a former top offensive lineman at Moorpark High, is looking forward to being an Air Force red-shirt freshman after playing on the academy's prep-school team this fall.

“It’s outstanding here. I’m enjoying it so far,” Frank said. “I had shoulder surgery after high school, so I spent some time rehabbing it, but after playing a whole season, there’s no caution now.”

Frank, 6-foot-3, 260 pounds, will be among the contenders to fill a couple of vacant spots on the offensive line.
