CLU Group Lauds Moorpark Resident
An outstanding alumnus and community volunteer gets an award for exemplary service.
Moorpark resident Ernie Sandlin recently received the William E. Hamm Outstanding Service Award from the Community Leaders Association (CLA) of California Lutheran University (CLU).
The award is given to CLA members who have shown exemplary service by serving their alma mater in many different ways throughout the years.
A member of the class of '81, Sandlin is the university’s former director of admissions. He also served as an assistant football coach for the Kingsmen for eight years.

He is currently the marketing representative for University Village in Thousand Oaks but continues to volunteer for countless university activities.
Sandlin also served as CLA’s president for two years and and as recording secretary for a year.

Established in 1985, the award was named after former CLU vice president William E. Hamm for his many contributions to CLA, CLU and the community.
