The members volunteered with Habitat For Humanity Saturday.

Members of the Moorpark Women's Fortnightly Club spent Saturday volunteering for Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County's Brush With Kindness program.

Ten members of the club plus their spouses and friends volunteered their efforts scraping old paint, caulking, priming, painting and adding landscape to a 100-year-old home, deeply in need of some loving attention, in Fillmore.

MWFC member, Joslyn Tillar, has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity on several occasions and requested new recruits at the MWFC meeting held on Sept. 9. Within the hour, Tillar had plenty of volunteers lined up  for the full day of activity.

"Watching the house transform from it's previous faded pink, peeling paint to the new, taupe and white trim facelift was remarkable," said club member Denise Piehn. "It was great having  homeowner, Kathy, worked right alongside the MWFC volunteers," she added.
