HEY..... CABLE GUY!

I saw the movie Cable guy with JIM CARREY and laughed all through it. Today, I only wish my cable guy WAS Jim Carrey"s character...and I honestly would take him to a movie, a game  whatever he wanted!

Instead. .I am in CABLE HELL! (or INTERNET HELL....all the same)


Without giving you the migraine I have endured since the onset of this fiasco, I will give you a quick rundown of this story which was anything BUT quick and I would like to RUNDOWN a few vital persons to the story!

Friday morning, I decided my children had enough of my Experiment #555 which I wrote about previously...Oh. .you didn't read it? Catch up!
{For approximatly  9 months or so my cable and internet have been eliminated from the lives of my children and myself in our home. I did this to see if :
1. We could survive without them
2. We could save some money and put it away for a family trip.
3. My son's grades could improve to the point where his grandmother won't threaten calling the Child Education Foundation on me as a bad mom..{I still don't even know if that is a fictitious foundation but grandmother's phone calls are enough to make me care!}


Well, we did survive. .barely, we didn't save any money because everything else in this world went up in price so we were just where we were before and the kid's grades did actually go up to the point where I was more than impressed as was his grandmother, who then sent us Novena cards she had for him with special masses said. It was God she declared proudly...

I say it was the absence of ESPN!

I waited patiently as the time changed 3x by said cable company. Finally the cable guy came in..putzed around for two hours, and hooked up all the equipment for internet AND basic cable...yahoooooo! NOT SO FAST!

No signal was detected! OMG! This is where my CABLE / INTERNET HELL began!!!!!

Short version.......George didn't tell Harry who didn't tell Marisa that this needed doing! So for four....F O U R days...no person came to the apartment to " get a signal" so the products/ equipment could actually work! OMG#2!

I called, I threatened, I pleaded, maybe I pleaded first, not sure at this point....but everyone was sympathetic with my horrendous situation, everyone understood and why I was so upset...BUT. .nobody still...NOBODY CAME!


Today was day #5. I was told everything was noted and the maintenance guy who does the "signal fixing" would be out to my apartment on.....{drum roll inserted}on SATURDAY>>>JUNE 14....today is WEDNESDAY...that would make this whole horrible fiasco lasting about 8 days.....22 hours, 45 minutes, 38 seconds...but I'm not counting!

All I know is school let out today for the summer today and SATURDAY is TOO long to wait...considering the equipment has been all set up.. sitting there, taunting me everyday since Friday, June 6th at 5:30pm! This is Cable? Internet HELL for sure.


I felt panic rise up like a wild horse and fear grabbed my bones like a good Steven King novel. I want my TV/Internet...NOW!  P   l   e   a   s   e


The kind lady on the phone assured me on the phone, that she would talk to her supervisor and get this SUPER TECH to my apartment sooner than Saturday...if she could! I felt hope slip through the phone line back into the toilet where its been since 5:30 pm Friday, June 6th.


I am sure I will have little sleep tonight. I could be watching TV or maybe writing on my computer, but instead I'll be staring at a red blinking light on my  newly installed equipment, which will be mocking me," blink..blink...haha..we're all ready to go. .but ..NO SIGNAL...hahaha."

******UPDATE...NEWS FLASH*********

Well today is Tuesday..June 17th and guess what?  STILL NO CABLE OR INTERNET!!!  I really thought this was over...not so!

It appears that there are people on the end of the phone with this GREAT company..that push wrong buttons...you know...the kind that not only delete service but now????   They deleted my ENTIRE ACCOUNT!

So George and Sam and Marcy and Tom and whoever else who really did try to allow my house to have cable TV and internet all failed...and we still sit...watching rented DVD movies from our dear library and we still pull out the ole' 1980's movies on my VCR tapes and we enjoy them( Hey...they were good movies back then.. really).

I CONTINUE TO HOPE AND PRAY THAT MAYBE JUST MAYBE ONE DAY WE REALLY WILL HAVE CABLE AND INTERNET AT HOME!

I pray and continue to hope that my children will remember TV shows as terrible as they were and remember that McDonalds is really a place where people eat.. not just use the WiFi as screaming kids are running around spilling ice-cream and loud screaming machines are doing something and lots of young people are laughing and having a good time.

Someday...Somewhere.. Somehow.....

Meanwhile Mr. Cable Guy...I think I'll have a beer!
