It's opening day at Dodger Stadium today. Patch file photo.

Whoa-- fellas- you do know the Patch fired almost ALL their editors and now have just a few coveringRead More gee- how many do you have to cover now, Penny? When at first it was 1 maybe 2? This is a case of shoot the messenger. Hey Penny, you are welcome to come over to the East Coast anytime, we give our editors more respect. Now- I must return...for I have a tendency to melt in this part of the country. Just for fun sake ---how about them Red Sox??

Snow, We know and the messenger is AOL! And yeah their style is cheap!
Penny Arévalo (Editor) April 6, 2014 at 01:00 pm
Well, thanks for the respect, Snow (I think). BTW, "fired" is not a appropriate word. TheyRead More were layoffs. And we're no longer owned by AOL. We do have great plans to change up how we cover our territory, but it won't involve losing millions of dollars a year. So we're in transition. I do thank all the readership for hanging with us. That's been very appreciated. Stay tuned! :-)

The Rams were never here. Someone doesn't realize we're not LA

Someone didn't read my bio ;-) Spent 11 years in TO, first job in journalism was for the Simi ValleyRead More Enterprise covering education (including Moorpark Unified) 26 years ago and have close family living in Moorpark to this day. What I do know is that people will drive to see their nearest sports teams (within reason). An hour to LA to see NFL football is doable for many fans. I now make that same drive to see the Chargers (also in another county for me). But maybe you don't like football? S'alright. Different strokes ... :-)

Really nice work on the skateboard, but he would have set a better example for his adoring fans byRead More wearing a helmet (as required by park rules!)

I re read the above article and didn't see a channel number. All I saw was CBS. Don't know whereRead More you live but the title of this page is called "Diamond Bar-Walnut" Patch and here CBS is located on Channel 2. You were rude to the editor!
ATC February 3, 2013 at 02:41 pm
Actually, Trisha, you are wrong about the title. This article is posted on multiple Patch pages. I'mRead More looking at it under the Banning-Beaumont Patch. I also assume that when Peter posted, the article DID have a channel #, which was removed after his post. It wasn't rude, it was simply pointing out a discrepancy in the article, which was then corrected. Thanks, Peter, for pointing that out to the editors.

PJM, this is a free enterprise system and as far as I know, no US laws have been broken. The realRead More issue here is as I and now others have mentioned, want the youth of our country following the lead of these players who have chosen to play outside the lines of the game. I only use the NFL seemed like and I still think it is as did MLB in the recent HOF voting results begin setting the bar for future players. I do not care if one has more legal liability than the other. One good example might be the labeling of cigarette packaging with the warning health labels..... now do you see, it really doesn't matter how it happens, just as the Surgeon General's warning is to try to prevent smoking and inherent damage that may occur, but it also in a sense allows the tobacco companies some if very limited liability from Suites of the legal variety. It's all good in my book, but not the use of Steroids in MLB!

When I see Major League Baseball, the NFL, the AFL, the NBA, the NHL and the NCAA publish andRead More enforce a real drug policy, I will believe someone has become serious about this issue. In the meantime I see a lot of posturing and worthless statements but little to no action. If we want to see our kids idolize people who use and condone the use of drugs, that is what we have now. It’s a sad commentary on what we have grown to accept.
